A company importing good from China and from the USA was very busy but seemed to be dragging along. The unit next door was being purchased using pension funds and the brief was to advise on expansion. In considering the range of customers it emerged that most of the business came from a few favourites. Also some of the old stock had stagnated and was taking up room. The office was not big enough for expansion. A key member of administrative staff had become stuck in her ways and was not open to new ideas or increased responsibilities. 

A review of customers and orders/contact revealed the position and a new member of staff was brought in to enable a change in approach. The old stock was let go at cost creating room for a change in office facilities, and the everyday work of the directors that was holding up any thought of expansion was delegated to fresh staff members open to change.
